Good morning!
What better way to spend a Sunday in December than watching a Christmas film?
You can cozy up on the sofa with a cup of hot chocolate and make believe that all can be well in the world if we embrace the spirit of Christmas. Those are my favourites, the ones that have a little magical feel to them, that make you feel fuzzy and warm and bring a tear to your eye. Here are some favourites:
- Jingle All the Way
- Deck the Halls
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
- The Grinch
- Santa Claus the Movie
- Elf
- Four Christmases
- Love Actually
- Arthur Christmas
Now I know there are lots more that could be on the list including some that cause controversy as not really being a Christmas film. I’m thinking Die Hard, Home Alone and Gremlins. All perfectly acceptable candidates but a good Christmas film for me is one that encompasses the excitement in the build up and the elements that make up a typical Christmas Day and why we do the things we do.
Of course, some version of A Christmas Carol has to be watched, too.
So grab your comfiest clothes, your snuggliest blanket and a hot cup of comfort and settle down this Sunday to a bit of Christmas cheer.
What will you be watching?
Best wishes,
